Drama Queen

My mom sent this picture to me this week, which she found as she was going through her Christmas photos. The juxtaposition between Duffy's face and Lulu's face just makes me laugh. Let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come..

Getting lost...

Look who came last night..

Duffy woke up very early but our little Lulu decided to sleep in. By the time she woke up, Duffy was going crazy. The waiting paid off as they came downstairs and were completely overwhelmed with all the wonderful things Santa left. Duffy even managed to find a piece of his beard that he left on the fireplace...

Reading the letter Santa left for us..

Double checking..

And making sure the chimney is all clear...

Good night little elves....

Sustenance

Lulu was very focused on making sure Santa had the right mix of snacks and that we were taking care of Rudolph as well..

All aboard...

One of the big surprises this year, was a train from Mimi and Pappy. Duffy and Lulu were thrilled and very surprised. We look forward to making this a part of our Christmas tradition for many years to come. Thanks Mimi and Pappy! We love it!!

I need a break...

Lulu taking a breather after opening so many gifts...

May the force be with you...

Thanks, Kel and Kel and Dodd!

The night before Christmas...

And all through Mimi's house, the creatures were definitely stirring..

and eating some of Santa's snacks...

The little shepherd star..

On Christmas Eve, we went to a great service for children where they had a pageant, which explained the meaning of Christmas. When you walked into the church, volunteers asked all the visiting children if they wished to participate in the show. Our little Lulu, jumped right in and decided to be a shepherd for the play. She enjoyed herself so much she 1) decided to pick her very on spot on the stage and 2) didn't want to leave until I coaxed her to come back and join the rest of us in our seats. What memories!! Lulubear, you are a star!

We're so proud...

Who's got a beard that's long and white?

Duffy and Lulu were SO excited to meet Santa. They made sure to tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Duffy wanted a racetrack and switchblade airplane and Lulu wanted a soccer ball and a camera. Santa was a real sport and it made our day meeting him. It was also a great surprise when Santa mentioned that he had met Pappy before, that Santa sure is smart!

Santa's Choo-Choo

On the 23rd, we were lucky enough to have Santa visit the local mall at Mimi and Pappy's. The line was a bit long so Duffy, Lulu and Pappy took a ride on Santa's choo choo as we waited.

Our little frosty..

In the spirt of a big snow, we decided to construct a snowman. However, the snow was a bit soft so we decided to make a smaller version of Frosty. While our Frosty was quite small, we did have a great set of eyes, nose and of course, the corn cob pipe (or a crab hammer in our case!)

Big Birthday..x9 and holding...

Happy Birthday Daddy! We love you so much.

Slip sledding away...

Up to 20 inches....

Snowboy and phone ballerina...

Hi-ho, Hi-ho, it's off to sledding we go..

As the snow continued to fall and as I became more restless in the house, we all decided to head out and go sledding in the neighborhood.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

As the snow continues to fall...

Making cookies!

In an effort to pass the time during the blizzard and while our snow clothes were drying, we decided to make Christmas cookies or mold cookies. Lulu started the project with me and Duffy joined in later. The elves were great helpers and I think they had more fun with the icing and sprinkles than the actual cookie cutting.
